The body of the device is ermetically sealed which enables use in inclement weather conditions (heavy shower, fog, dusty environment, sand storm, etc.).
A serious advantage is a large eye relief which enables glass-wearers to comfortably use the device without taking off glasses.
Specially designed optics coupled with Gen.2+ tube and wide-angled five lens eyepiece deliver a crisp and detailed image. The Challenger 1x21 G2+ is equipped with a wide-angled short range infrared illuminator but it also has a matching site to install auxiliary, more powerful, focusable IR Illuminators.
The device and the built-in IR illuminator are switched on/off with the help of a switch. Design of the switch prevents the IR illuminator from accidental activation (to avoid disclosure of the observer).
Range of applications of the Challenger 1x21 G2+ is determined by its weight/dimensions characteristics which include nocturnal foot or bicycle walks, night orientation (especially if used with the head mount), hunting, tourism, guarding of industrial facilities and private property, military and sport games, rescue operations and patrolling.
